EURAVIA NORTH AMERICA INTRODUCES COLD SPRAYING CAPABILITY: Save, Don’t Scrap!

Euravia North America (“ENA”), a Magellan Aerospace Company, has added cold spraying capability to their comprehensive list of engine and component repair and overhaul (R&O) solutions.

Particularly effective in corrosion repairs, cold spray is the supersonic deposition of metallic powder to worn or damaged surfaces. A key advantage of the process is that it may allow the repair and reuse of valuable components, like gearboxes, that may otherwise would have been scrapped. Other advantages include reduced repair time, extended life of the components, and reduced waste associated with salvage versus scrapping parts.

Similar to thermal spray, the biggest differences are the lower bond temperatures required for cold spraying and the smaller particle size of the spray powder.
